common conditions and treatments
neck pain
Neck pain will be a problem with at least 80% to 90 % of
the population at least once during their lives.
In this age of computers, we are sitting for longer in
often poor sustained postures leading to strain and
pain. An All Care physiotherapist can assess the
structures causing pain like the joints, muscles or
nerves, and implement the best management to aide in
your recovery.
back pain
Back pain is a condition that will afflict up to 90% of
the population. There are many causes of low back pain
which require a good hands-on assessment to pinpoint the
specific problem. Treatment often requires a combination
of massage of tight muscles, follow up stretches,
manipulation, postural assessment and stability
retraining to fix the underlying problem and teach you
haw to manage it at home.
shoulder
pain/tendinitis
The shoulder is a complex structure that requires
integrated movement of the 3 moving bones of the
scapula, humerus and clavicle by a coordinated muscle
team. Dysfunction of any of these parts can lead
to increased stress on the underlying joints, ligaments
and tendons leading to continual problems with movement
particularly out to the side of the body. An All
Care physiotherapist can assess and diagnose the cause
of your pain, and more importantly what you need to
stretch and strengthen to fix it.
hip pain
Hip pain is common and is often associated with
increased stress through the supporting muscles, tendons
and ligaments of the hip. Tendinitis can be from
overuse, or the supporting muscles not being strong
enough. Poor local control of the hip joint can
lead to labral tears or ligament tears. The All Care
physiotherapist can assess your hip problem and
undertake treatment to fix the cause of the pain.
headaches
Headaches are a common condition. A large percentage of
headaches can come from the neck and are termed
cervicogenic headaches. People with these headaches have
the same presentation of poor posture, neck stiffness
and poor supporting muscle function. The All Care
physiotherapist can assess your neck to see if it is the
cause of your headaches and if so help you fix them with
appropriate hands-on treatment and exercises.
whiplash
Whiplash is the term given to the motion that your neck
undergoes when you are in a car accident. This
whiplash effect causes damage to joints, ligaments and
muscles that often need specialised exercise to help you
recover. All Care Physiotherapy can assess and
implement the right programme to help you recover.
anterior knee
pain
Anterior knee pain often is due to problems at the
patellofemoral joint. This joint is made up of the
wedge like bone called the patella that acts like a
pulley for your muscles at the front of the knee. The
patella can be pulled in the wrong direction causing
increased pressure behind the knee cap leading to pain.
This often happens with sitting, squatting or climbing
stairs. An assessment by All Care Physiotherapy
will find the problems contributing to your knee pain
and help you fix them.
