what is your problem?
Sciatica?
Sciatica is a common term used for the condition of referred
pain in the leg. Often it is caused from dysfunction from your
back leading to pressure on nerves causing pain in the leg. At
All Care Physiotherapy, we know that a detailed assessment will
pinpoint the cause of your problem whether it is from a
particular joint in your back or due to a pinched nerve in the
muscles of your buttock or leg. Successful treatment depends on
finding the cause of the pain and directing the appropriate
techniques to fix the problem. If we feel your condition
requires an XR or scan we will liaise with your Doctor so you
will achieve the best outcome.
Back pain?
Back pain can result from stress, strain or injury to any of
the joints, ligaments, discs, nerves or muscles of your spine. A
detailed assessment will pinpoint what the problem is and what
appropriate treatment is required. At All Care Physiotherapy, we
know that every person is different and often different
treatment is needed for people who may present with the pain in
the same area or the same XR diagnosis. After your pain is
relieved we have our clinical Pilates programme to ensure your
core stability is improved to maintain a pain free lifestyle.
Neck pain?
Neck pain is often debilitating. Irritated joints, nerves or
tight muscles will cause pain in your neck shoulder, shoulder
blade or arm or even headaches. A detailed assessment will
locate the problem and what factors are causing it. Treatment
can be directed on loosening up tight muscles and joints,
releasing pressure on nerves and working on improving neck
posture and strength.
Shoulder pain?
Rotator cuff tendinitis, impingement, shoulder subluxation,
bursitis, muscle tears are all problems that can occur in the
shoulder causing pain. The shoulder is a complex joint requiring
a detailed assessment to detect what is causing the pain and
more importantly what imbalances have probably caused it.
Treatment is directed towards healing the problem area and then
working on the muscle imbalances that have lead to the problem.
Headaches?
Headaches are common and have many potential causes. One of
the common causes we treat at All Care Physiotherapy is
headaches stemming from the top of your neck. We have a simple
assessment procedure to detect if your headaches are from your
neck and if so we can instigate treatment to help you get rid of
your sore head forever.
Tennis elbow?
Tennis elbow is a common term to describe pain originating
from the lateral part of the elbow. Often mistaken that it is
only from playing tennis, it more often is as a result of
overloading the muscle attachments from the back of the forearm
onto the elbow. This can occur from hammering, gardening,
painting etc or any activity that is repetitive or different
from what the muscles are used to. At All Care Physiotherapy, we
know that a detailed assessment will pinpoint what muscle is
involved and what treatment is appropriate. We also investigate
your neck to see if this has referred pain to your elbow (which
is very common even with local muscle pain). Our assessment will
enable us to formulate the right treatment programme to help you
get on with using your arm pain free again.
Shoulder blade pain?
Pain around the shoulder blade is very common particularly in
the sedentary office workers. Maintaining the right static
sitting posture for 8 or more hours per day is very difficult.
Slouching postures cause strain on the joints, ligaments and
muscles between or underneath the shoulder blades. Often the
joints and muscles become stiff leading to irritation and pain.
At All Care Physiotherapy, we know that a detailed assessment of
the area will pinpoint what joints, ligaments and muscles are
involved in causing your pain. Often freeing up these tight
joints and muscles will resolve the pain allowing us to work on
the cause of the problem which is poor posture. Appropriate
strengthening and flexibility exercises, combined with postural
correction will help you remain pain free in the long term.
Hip/groin pain?
Hip or groin pain can have many causes. Pain in the groin can
be from joint impingement or wear, muscle tendinitis or strain,
bursitis or a ligament tear. Pain on the outside of the hip can
be from a bursitis or tendinitis/tendonosis. A detailed
assessment will locate the appropriate structure causing your
pain and what is the best treatment to help you get better.
Anterior knee pain?
Pain around the front of the knee is common. Often people
locate their pain by putting their hand over the front of their
knee cap. The pain is often worse with sitting to standing,
walking up or down stairs or slopes or squatting. The most
common cause is mal-tracking of the kneecap or patella in its
groove. This commonly results from tightness of the outside
muscles and thick band structure called the ITB pulling the
kneecap laterally. The inside muscle of the knee often is weak
due to inhibition from pain. At All Care Physiotherapy, we know
that releasing the tight outside structures and strengthening
the inside muscle often alleviates this problem. We use taping
to realign the knee cap to allow it to track more efficiently in
its groove while addressing the cause of the problem.
Tendinitis?
Muscles attach onto bones via tendons. These tendons can be
easily stretched or overloaded leading to strain or even tears.
Most chronic tendon problems relate to a condition called
tendonosis where microscopically small parts of the inside of
the tendon break down leading to pain. Successful treatment
depends on the assessment of the tendon to diagnose what stage
the injury is and then specific treatment can be implemented.
The All Care Physiotherapist will question about what recent
change of activity you have been doing that may have predisposed
you to injury. Factors that may need to be addressed are recent
changes in sport training, changes in shoes, increased physical
activity at home or increases work load at work.
Treatment will address all biomechanical factors, local tendon
treatment as well as specific exercise that has been proven to
help repair damaged tendons.
Post surgery?
All Care Physiotherapy is familiar with all types of
orthopaedic surgery. We have had 15 plus years experience in
rehabilitating patients with knee reconstructions, joint
replacements, fractures and ligament and tendon repairs. We know
and liaise with your surgeon to maximise your outcome post
surgery.
Acute sports injuries?
Acute muscle, ligament or joint sprains are common when
playing sport. All Care Physiotherapy can assess and diagnose
the extent of your injury and then implement specific treatment
to get you back onto the field again as quickly as possible.
